Celebrate the 4th of July with this festive red, white, and blue summer salad! Featuring fresh strawberries, blueberries, avocado, and toasted pecans.

Ingredients

  • The Base: 6 cups mixed summer greens (arugula, butter lettuce, or spring mix)

  • The Produce: 1 large avocado (diced), 1/2 cup fresh strawberries (halved), 1/2 cup fresh blueberries

  • The Crunch: 1/2 cup pecans (toasted)

  • The Cheese: 1/4 cup crumbled feta or goat cheese

  • The Dressing: 3 tbsp balsamic glaze, 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste

Directions

  • Toast the Pecans: In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the pecans for 3–5 minutes until fragrant. Let them cool completely so they stay crunchy!
  • Assemble: In a large, chilled serving bowl, lay down your bed of summer greens.
  • Layer the Ingredients: Artfully arrange the diced avocado, fresh strawberries, and blueberries over the greens. Sprinkle the crumbled cheese and toasted pecans over the top.
  • Dress and Serve: Just before serving, drizzle the balsamic glaze and olive oil over the salad. Season with a pinch of sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Toss gently once and serve immediately.
