Master the perfect authentic Sangria recipe! Refreshing, easy to make, and filled with fresh fruit, this classic Spanish cocktail is your perfect summer's drink.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle (750ml) Rioja wine (Tempranillo)

  • 1 cup lemonade (chilled)

  • 1 large nectarine, sliced into thin wedges

  • 1 orange, sliced into rounds

  • 2 cups sparkling water or club soda (chilled)

  • Ice cubes (for serving)

Directions

  • Prepare the Fruit: In a large pitcher, combine the sliced nectarines, orange, and lemon. If you have time, lightly muddle the nectarines against the side of the pitcher to release their juices.
  • Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (up to 24 hours). This "maceration" step is essential for the wine to absorb the fruit flavors.
  • Finish: Just before serving, pour in the sparkling water/club soda. Give it a very gentle stir to incorporate without losing all the carbonation.
  • Serve: Fill tall glasses with fresh ice and pour the sangria over the top, making sure to include a few pieces of the marinated fruit in each glass.
